HAPPY MIDTERM

Thank you to our pupils, staff, parents, Parents' Association and whole school community for an excellent start to the year. Have a happy and safe Halloween. Enjoy the break!

A MESSAGE FROM AN GARDA SIOCHANA

3 members of the local Garda team came to visit 4th and 5th class last week. The message was very simple, 'Stay Safe this Halloween'. Please discuss this message with your children this weekend. There are some pointers attached below from dlr.

STAR OF THE FUTURE

It was a pleaure invite Alex to Hollypark BNS last week. Alex, who is in the 3rd class in Hollypark GNS, is already a published author. We invited her to read her book, I belong in a Beautiful World, to Ms Murphy's Junior Infants. Alex's brother Colman was very proud of his big sister! Our Junior Infants boys should be very proud of their excellent listening skills also! Thank you to Alex's friend Ella who accompanied her on the trip!

Alex has so far raised over €100 for Laura Lynn through sales of her book.

Well done Alex, we are very proud of you!

HALLOWEEN DRESS UP

Halloween is upon us once again, and we are looking forward to seeing the boys dressed up for our annual Halloween dress-up day, which will take place on Friday, October 25th.
Some boys have already begun their costume planning and we are excited to see the variety they will be dressed as, from spooky to silly and everything in between. Please find below guidelines and requirements to follow for the smooth and safe running of the day:

  • No accessories, e.g., nothing they need to hold in their hand or things that can be put down for others to potentially pick up and handle.
  • No long capes, dangly material or anything that may be a tripping hazard.
  • Costumes should be comfortable and practical for sitting in the classroom for the day, e.g., no inflatable costumes.
  • Be mindful that the costume isn’t going to scare a younger student. If you think a Junior Infant will be frightened, then tone it down or reconsider.

Less is more when it comes to costumes and keeping it simple can often be the most effective. There will be prizes throughout the school for best dressed and creative costumes. It is a very exciting day for the boys and with your continued support and understanding we hope to make it another success.

FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS!

poster

Congratulations to our Senior B football team, who are league champions! A dominant display over St. Laurence's, Kilmacud, meant our boys finished the league unbeaten and took the silverware back to Hollypark. Maith sibh buachaillí! The boys, along with the Senior A team will be rewarded for their brilliant season with a pizza party in the Halla.
Thank you to coaches Mr. Mc Evoy and Mr. Ryan for their time and expertise. Mr. Ryan was double-jobbing on the sidelines and captured every emotion possible on the day. These photographs are well worth a look. Click the link below.

We extend our congratulations to our teacher Ms. O'Callaghan. Her 3 sons, Niall, Eoin and Con (pictured below) won the County Final against Kilmacud last weekend. The Kilmacud team was littered with past pupils and we know they will bounce back from this disappointment. Best of luck to Cuala in the Leinster semi- finals.
