OPENING OF YEAR MASS
On Thursday, September 29th, our new Parish Priest Fr. Gerry will celebrate a mass to mark the opening of the school year. 3rd-6th class boys and their girls' school counterparts will attend 10am mass. Our students will also get a chance to say a fond farewell to Sacristan, Tom Fortune who has been a great help to our boys and staff during the past 17 years. Thank you to Ms. Maloney who is working with our 6th class choir to make the mass extra special. Parents, grandparents and family members are welcome to attend.
STAR OF THE FUTURE
Congratulations to Donnchadh Billings, 4th class, who won player of the year for the 2021/22 season for Under 10’s A1 football at St Joseph’s AFC. A terrific achievement for Donnchadh. We look forward to watching his goalkeeping career progress!
HURLING- SENIOR INFANTS
The excitement was palpable on Monday morning as our senior infants donned their hurling helmets and headed for the Astro. Hurleys in hand and smiles on faces greeted the 10 Kilmacud Crokes coaches. The boys had a great learning experience and played several games while working on their fundamental movement skills. Much to the delight of Mrs. Regan, our sports co-ordinator, the future of Hollypark hurling looks bright. The boys have a chance to do it all again for the next 6 weeks. Thanks to past pupils, Sean O' Regain and Ronan Mc Namara (Colaiste Eoin) for coaching our young boys.
CUMANN NA MBUNSCOL- FOOTBALL
It has been a great week so far for our amazing school football teams. Both our Junior A and B teams had convincing wins on Tuesday evening against St. Mary's, Rathfarnham and Divine Word NS. On Wednesday evening, our Senior A team will play St. Michael's, Ballsbridge in Meadowvale. The winner of this match will top the group and play in the quarter-final next week. Best of luck boys. On Thursday, it is the turn of our Senior B team. They will play our local rival, St. Brigid's, Foxrock and hopefully make it 3 wins from 3!
Thank you to the team of teachers who give up their free time daily to coach and attend matches. We are deeply appreciative of your efforts.
