Whole School Evaluation- Management, Leadership and Learning

We welcomed three Department Inspectors into Hollypark yesterday for day one of our WSE-MLL. Eight mainstream classes were visited. The staff and pupils were fantastic and we look forward to day two! 

Thank you to many parents and guardians who completed the WSE-MLL survey. The response to the survey was excellent. The survey has now closed.

ENGINEERS' WEEK

This week, we are celebrating Engineers' Week. The school is buzzing with classes taking part in everything related to engineering. The boys are learning about the various types of engineers and all that they do in the world around us.

We are very lucky in Hollypark to have wonderful parents and this week, the boys are thoroughly enjoying visits from some engineers. We will have full details in next week's letter.  Thank you to Ms. Hynes for again leading a magnificent Engineers' Week in our school.

SEACHTAIN NA GAEILGE 10Ú - 14Ú MÁRTA 2025

Beidh Seachtain na Gaeilge a chéiliúreadh againn sa scoil ar an 10ú - 14ú lá de Mhárta.  Táimid ag tnúth go mór leis!  Beidh imeachtaí cheiliúreadh ar siúl timpeall na scoile i rith na coicíse mar yoga,as gaeilge, céilí, trath na gceist, ciorcal comhrá, craic agus ceoil. Beidh seans ag na buachaillí duaiseanna a bhuacaint sa chomórtais “Gaelgeoir an Lae” agus “Gaelgeoir na Seachtaine”.  Tá na buachaillí gnóthach ag foghlaim amhráin, dánta agus rainn le haghaidh an Pharáid.  Beidh an Pharáid ar siúl sa chlós ar an 13ú lá de Mhárta ag 11:00. (School Parade on March 13th @ 11am. All parents/grandparents are welcome)

First Penance

First Penance for children preparing to receive their First Communion, will take place in Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Foxrock Parish on;
Thursday, March 13th, 2025 at 6 pm for Hollypark BNS. 

TREES, GARDENS & CAR PARK

Please do not let the boys or their siblings play in the trees, gardens or near the car park before or after school.   Please inform minders and grandparents of this rule. The trees area includes the bank outside classroom number 28 where the boys in 4th class are busy learning. We appreciate your cooperation. 

MOBILE PHONES, SMART WATCHES & RELATED DEVICES

A reminder to all that we have a mobile phone, smart watch and related devices policy in place in our Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP) published on our website. https://hollyparkbns.ie/our-school/policies/acceptable-usage-policy-aup

The main points relating to mobile phones, smart watches and related devices are:

5. Personal Devices

  • Pupils are not allowed to have their mobile phones / personal devices/smart watch and related devices etc. in class / school.
  • In exceptional circumstances and only where absolutely necessary, a pupil who requires a phone after school, requires his parents/guardians to put this in writing to the school principal on the specified request form. The phone must remain off in the boy’s school- bag until he leaves the school grounds.
  • Pupils are not allowed to take photographs / video clips / audio clips in the school grounds.
  • The school accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage to personal devices.
  • Any home school communication during school time from a pupil is through the school telephone in the secretary’s office.
