GUITAR LESSONS IN HOLLPARK BNS
Hi Everyone, I’m delighted to announce that a new term of Guitar lessons will begin in January 2023. This term I’m offering a free trial lesson for anyone who’s interested in joining the class but would like to see if the lessons suit their students before committing to booking in for a term. The free trail lesson will take place after school on Friday the 19th of January 2024. The free class is limited to 16 students so please register your interest early to secure your spot. The new term will begin properly the following Friday the 26th of January. It will run for 10 weeks and the cost is €130. I’m offering a sibling discount this term so if you send more than one student to lessons the cost is reduced to €110 per student. To register or if you have any questions please text or WhatsApp me, Marc on 0863935142. Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year. See you in January.

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION
INFANT CHRISTMAS SHOWS
Junior Infants- December 14th at 9.30am
Senior Infants- December 14th at 11.30am
We are nearly there! After all the preparation, line learning, song singing, costume making and multiple rehearsals, we are looking forward to welcoming the parents and guardians of Junior and Senior Infant classes into the school on Thursday. Spaces are limited to two adults per family. Siblings in the boy's school will have seen the performance already. Sister's from the girls school are not permitted to attend. Ciarán Maher, parent and cameraman has recorded both shows and a link will be available to download from our website in the coming days. We kindly ask that parents do not use their mobile phones to record while the show is in progress. We thank you for your co-operation on these matters.
All shows will take place in the school PE hall. Please note that spaces are limited and reserved for 2 adults only per child.
It was our pleasure to welcome Elizabeth Smyth from SVP to our school yesterday. Hollypark BNS student council helped to raise a fantastic 704.60e for SVP. We thank everybody who donated and purchased christmas jumpers. Well done to our 6th class boys, aided by SNA, Ms. Mc Laughlin for organising, running and driving the event. You did us proud!
Also pictured is Thomas Gilmore, 3rd class, who is the SVP poster boy.

RESPECT FOR OUR NEIGHBOURS
We are very proud of our Hollypark boys. Day in day out, the boys learn to treat each other with kindness. They care for one another and are great at sharing, playing and using kind words to one another. We would like to remind the boys that when they are outside school, wearing their Hollypark uniform, the same kindness should apply. Trips to Paddy's shop, Mount Albany, the local playground or Granada after school should be closely monitored by parents and rules and boundaries should be addressed with boys before they go there. Public places also have rules and we must respect our neighbours in our local area. If parents could also relay this message to the boys, it would be much appreciated.
CHILDHOOD RSV &
STREP A
We kindly ask that children who are displaying symptoms of illness, cough, fever, sore throat etc. stay at home from school until they are fully recovered. You will see from media reports that childhood RSV and Strep A are highly contagious infections and extremely dangerous. We want to ensure these infections stay out of our school.
STARS OF THE FUTURE
4th class boys have many great ideas. One such idea that Luke Mc Mahon and Darragh Mc Auliffe had was to host a draughts competition at lunchtime. Using their own money and amalgamating their names the 'Duke Cup' was born! During lunchtime for the past 4 weeks, the boys have a very tense and exciting chess competition. Congratulations to Tomás Carron for winning the inagural cup. Well done also to Aaron Norton who was the runner- up. Well done also to Sam Tierney who only took 3 minutes to hammer poor Mr. O' Donovan in round 1 of the competition! Well done boys, keep up the great ideas!
This week is a very special week for these boys: Alfie Craven, Emmanuelle Gealon, Edward Ramanundh, Rory Wise, Logan Mc Hale, Conor Dong, Douglas Lawlor, Ollie Cunningham, William Morris, Luke Mulvany, Finn Morrissey, Daire Tuite, Juan Jijo, Flynn O' Brien and Daniel Balfe
Have a wonderful celebration boys!
Beir bua agus beannacht,
Principal
