We are delighted to announce that our annual Scholastic Book Fair is back after a three-year hiatus! Our last Book Fair took place in March 2020 just before schools were closed in Ireland due to COVID 19. The Book Fair is moving to a new slot to allow for some literary Christmas purchases for family and friends. The Book Fair will be open from:
Monday November 28th-Friday December 2nd.
Times: Open daily from 8:30-9:15a.m. and 1:30 p.m.-3:00p.m.
Thursday Eve from 6:30 -8:00 pm.
The commission received from the fair will go back into books for your son’s class library and our school library. For every euro spent we will receive 60c back in books for our school. We will also purchase new sets of class novels.
This event is always really popular with pupils and families. Our 5th & 6th class buddies will enjoy sharing a reading session with their Junior and Senior Infant buddies in the hall. All classes will have an opportunity to visit the fair during the week. It is another opportunity to welcome families back into our school hall once more.
A huge thank you to our Library Team of parents and our PA who will be working at the book fair all week. Payment may be made by cash or card.
We look forward to seeing you there.

SCIENCE WEEK
During Science Week last week, Ms Power's class embraced the Marshmallow Spaghetti Challenge where they had to create the tallest tower that could hold a giant marshmallow. The boys worked in teams to create their structures. Mr. Molyneux's 6th class conducted an experiment on the formation of moon craters. Communication, engineering skills and teamwork were all being practised. Thank you to Mr. Mc Evoy and Ms. Hynes for facilitating the week.

PAST PUPIL WATCH
Kilmacud Crokes had another amazing weekend last weekend winning all around them. The best win of them all was the u-17 County final versus Lucan. The team comprised of 10 Hollypark past pupils (pictured below). I had the pleasure of training these boys (men!) when they were age 7-13. Well done guys, another great achievement for our past pupils. We look forward to your bringing in the cup to us!

We are very proud of Daniel's achievements and wish him and his family the very best of luck. To read more about their incredible grandmother and grandchildren, please click the link attached.
HOLLYPARK CHESS TEAM
Congratulations to our wonderful Chess team who played a great tournament last week. They represented the school very well and we are very proud of them. Thank you to our chess teacher Hector for organising.
ADVENT WREATHS
A huge thank you once again to Mrs. Perera and her team of parent volunteers for helping us make Advent wreaths.
The four Sundays preceding Christmas, which is when Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, are recognized for four virtues. The candles on the Advent wreath symbolize hope, love, joy and peace.
Pictured below are 5th and 6th class boys proudly showing their wreaths.
