BLOOMING BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you to our wonderful Gardening Committee led by Ms. Quealy and our secretary Eilish who have our surroundings looking so beautiful. Our boys are learning so much about trees, plants, shrubs, wildflowers and sustainability. It is lovely to see the colour come to life in the summer sunshine.

HOLLYPARK'S GOT TALENT!
Congratulations to Oscar Shi, 1st class, who wowed us with his incredible musical talent last Friday. Oscar was due to perform for Minister Foley. As her arrival was cancelled, we could not let the opportunity pass us by. Oscar performed for 1st and 3rd class in our school hall. The word 'incredible' does not do this talented 8 year old justice. Minister Foley, you missed out!
Well done also to Rhys Brennan, 5th class, who performed When I Grow Up, from the musical Matilda. Rhys has been stage performing since age 6 and he is a Broadway star in the making. Pictured below is Rhys holding two distinction certificates which he won recently. Well done to both boys.
Liam Byrne, Aidan Martin, 3rd class and Patrick Duggan Geary 6th class also entertained us on the piano. If any other boys would like to perform, please let us know. We love to see all of your talents.
It was our pleasure to welcome Deputy Principal, Simon Rogers from Blackrock Educate Together into our school yesterday. Simon addressed our 5th class students and answered questions regarding their new school. Simon also met with our 6th class pupils who are transitioning to BETSS this September. He was suitably impressed with our boys and would love to see many attending BETSS in the near future.

We are blessed to have so many magnificent schools in our area. In 4 weeks' time, 80 6th class boys will graduate and move to pastures new. I have compiled a list of where the boys will attend secondary school.

BE SAFE ONLINE
Thank you to Sarah from Cybersafe kids who spoke to our 4th class students yesterday. Sarah was advising of the dangers of social media, gaming, meeting strangers online, cyberbulling and lots, lots more. Now is a good time to open a conversation with your son regarding his internet use and the dangers associated with it.

A great opportunity for our 2nd class boys to start saving. Please see the details in the poster below.
6TH CLASS CONFIRMATION
We look forward to celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation with our three 6th classes this week. Mrs. Regan and Ms. Crowe's class ceremonies take place on Thursday and Mrs. Murphy's boys' ceremony will take place on Friday. Thank you to our wonderful 6th class teachers along with Mrs. Mc Carrick, Ms. Kearns and Mrs. Doyle for all the preparation for this special day. We hope the sun will shine over Foxrock on both days!
Our 5th class boys are once again called upon for choir duty. Their dulcet tones are to be heard across Foxrock all week as they are getting prepped and ready for Thursday and Friday. Under the direction of Ms. Maloney and Mrs. Goretti Newell on the organ, they really do sound so sweet. We are proud of you boys. Thank you for helping us.
ADHD IRELAND AND HOLLYPARK
We are delighted to have partnered with ADHD Ireland and become an ADHD Accredited School. Hollypark BNS is only the 2nd school in Ireland to receive this accreditation. Our staff completed their ADHD Schools Accreditation Programme and received their certificates last week. We also received a flag from ADHD Ireland on, Wednesday, May 18th.
Thank you to Nicola, from ADHD Ireland for her visit to the school. Nicola and her team are always at the end of the phone/email ready to answer your ADHD-related questions. There are frequent workshops for parents and children as well as webinars, talks and face to face meets. Thank you to Mrs. Webbley for leading us in this worthwhile initiative.
Details of an upcoming ADHD webinar on June, 2nd are included below.
4TH CLASS PROJECTS, VIKINGS
Our 4th classes have been learning all about the Vikings. The boys made a Viking board game called Hnefatafl and have become very strategic players. Showing great imagination, artistic flair, teamwork and cooperation, they also painted Viking longships. The projects on display are fabulous!
Pictured below are boys from Ms. Flannery's 4th class.
STARS OF THE FUTURE
Golf
Thank you to Mr. Murphy who put on a golf putting clinic for every 5th and 6th class pupil this week. The results of the clinic were very obvious when our 27 boys went to Leopardstown GC this week to part-take in trials. Our boys mastered the course in the driving rain and produced brilliant scores all round. 4 boys will be chosen to represent Hollypark in the Castle Cup next Monday. Thank you to Mr. Murphy for organising this event.
Pictured below are some 5th class boys availing of putting lessons.
Tennis
Congratulations to all the Hollypark boys who participated in the Leinster Tennis U12 League finals on Sunday in Clontarf. Andrew O'Sullivan (6th); Killian Bernin (5th) and Ross O'Toole (4th), representing Leopardstown LTC, were runners-up in the Division 1 final, while Patrick Duggan Geary (6th) and Oscar Duggan Geary (4th) won the Division 3 final, representing Glenageary LTC.
Sailing
Marcus Shelley (6th class, Ms Murphy), competed in the Munster Championship Optimist sailing competition and won 2nd place in his fleet!
46 boats competed in the senior division that he was racing against. The event was held on Saturday and Sunday in Cork in the Royal Cork Yacht Club.
Athletics
Best of luck to our 15 athletes who will represent Hollypark BNS in Santry Athletics this week. Well done to all boys for attending early morning, pre-school trials. We had a whopping 160 children from 5th and 6th class attend. Thank you to Ms. Kearns, Ms. Feighan, Ms. Dunne and Mr. Moloney for organising and co-ordinating Santry for us this year.
HURLING SEMI-FINAL
Best of luck to our Senior A hurlers who play Belgrove in the semi-final of the hurling league today. The final will take place in Croke Park! Thank you to Mrs. Regan and Ms. Smith for coaching the boys. Our fingers and toes are crossed for you!
Hard luck to our Senior B hurling team who lost by 1 point to St. Laurence's in a hard-fought battle.
