BUSY, BUSY SCHOOL LIFE
It is a very busy time in Hollypark BNS at present. Boys are enjoying many extra-curricular activities including GAA, rugby, chess, tennis, Engineers Week, school garden activities and more. Thank you to all the staff involved for giving up their free time at lunch breaks and after school. You are creating a very positive school experience for our pupils. Thank you.
Green schools
Our Green Schools Committee will once again lead us in our ‘Save the Bees’ campaign which had a very positive impact in our school last year. This year, Super Valu supermarkets have joined the promotion and are offering ‘bee stamps’ with every 30e spent in their store. Our committee are ready and waiting to take your stamps and place them on our large Save the Bees poster located in the main hall. When all stamps are collected the school are in with a chance to win 10,000e for our school garden! Best of luck boys. For more information and garden activities, click the link attached

Coping Strategies for Children with Anxiety
We will once again hold a Zoom Webinar with host Fiona Foreman, author of Weaving Wellbeing. The webinar will take place on May 10th at 7pm.
Please see the information attached as to what Fiona will discuss
The number of children with anxiety has risen over the last number of years, for many complex reasons. Anxiety can have different symptoms, and usually causes distress to children and limits their experiences. It’s helpful to know that there are many things we can do to support an anxious child, including striking a balance between supporting them whilst also empowering them to deal with their anxious thoughts and feelings. This webinar will outline the protective factors in supporting children, as well as offering a number of evidence-based coping strategies that children can use to help them to feel safe, strong and confident.
