sports blitz 2021

A huge thank you and heaps of praise must go to Sarah Walsh and her Parents’ Association team. On Thursday, 21^st October, the boys had a day in school to remember forever. They were treated to various sports; tennis, basketball, yoga, volleyball, Pilates, Stretch and Grow, GAA, soccer, table tennis and more. Sarah and her team worked tirelessly on planning, organising timetables and even had time to ferry lunches to all staff and coaches. The day was a huge success and managed to raise an incredible 19,742e in the process. The money collected will go straight to the school to update resources, sports equipment, communion and confirmation events, books, games for yard and more. Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way. Thank you to all the coaches and volunteers who gave up their time to bring this special day together. It is very much appreciated by the staff and management of the school.

 

Sports Blitz 2021

What a fantastic day the boys had on 21^st October for our annual Sports Blitz.  A great variety of sports took place, and we would like to extend our thanks to Jim Stewart of Cricket Leinster, the incredible team from Granada FC, Anna Cousins of High 5 Sports, Maurice Leahy in Kilmacud Crokes, Jonathan Sharkey of Leinster Rugby, Joe McCarthy of Life Balance Pilates, Stephen O’Shea of Monkstown Lawn Tennis Club, Emma Meir and her team from Playball Kids, Hillary Merren of Stretch-n-Grow, Jana Langford, Lina Dzurnak & Ewelina Gadek from Volleyball Ireland and Alicia Harmon Yoga.  We are very grateful to them all for giving us their time.  Thanks also to Mr. Maloney and all the teachers, SNA’s and staff in the school for their help on the day.

We raised an incredible €19,742 and sincerely appreciate the support and generosity of families.  The money raised will go a long way for us in supporting the school.

Halloween dress up

The following day saw pupils, teachers, SNAs and even the school principal dress up to celebrate Halloween. It was a roaring success and the boys enjoyed the day immensely. Thank you to our Halloween committee for making the day lots of fun!

 

covid-19

We are seeing a rise in the numbers of positive cases within the local area and in the school community. We ask parents to be extremely vigilant and not to send children to school if they are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19. If your child requires Nurofen or Calpol, they are not fit for school. Continue to teach good hygiene and respiratory etiquette. Ensure boys hands are clean when arriving at school and please continue to follow all public health advice. Toy Show Goodie Boxes

The Parents’ Association Elves are busy making Goodie Boxes for families to enjoy while watching the much-anticipated Late Late Toy Show on Friday 26^th November!  The Goodie Boxes will go on sale very soon with a portion of funds raised being donated to the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal.  Further details will be announced shortly…

 

christmas annuals

The boys will receive a Folens Christmas Annual order form on Friday 5th November.   The cost of the annuals is €4.50 each.  Please return the completed order form together with the correct money in a sealed envelope with your son's full name and class teacher on the front. Final date to order annuals is Wednesday 10th November.
