 MONTHLY FOCUS

We are all enjoying our theme this month, Pause and Reflect. Many classes start their school day with a variety of breathing and meditation exercises. This gives us all the opportunity to slow down and focus before we begin our busy day.

Read whatever you like, as much as you can, in November. This year’s MS Readathon will be a magical quest, and the adventure kicks off on November 1st and wraps up on November 30th.’’

DLR Keep Well in your Community

https://www.dlrcoco.ie/en/keep-well-campaign-2020

The Government's "Plan for Living with Covid-19: Resilience and Recovery 2020-2021" highlights the important role that individual and community resilience will play in contributing to our ongoing response to Covid-19.

The "Keep Well" campaign is aimed at showing people of all ages how we can mind our own physical and mental health and wellbeing by adding healthy and helpful habits to our daily and weekly routines.

There are five themes under the “Keep Well” campaign, five things we can do that will help look after our mental health and wellbeing this winter. Making a plan of things we can do every day will help make winter a bit easier. An outline of local initiatives under each theme are listed below, along with a link to a full list for each theme.

1. Keeping Active – keeping active and being outdoors even during the winter; looking after your physical health can help your mental health and wellbeing. Click here for a list of the Keeping Active initiatives.

2. Keeping in Contact – staying connected with people; looking after other people and addressing their isolation can help your mental health and wellbeing. Click here for a list of the Staying Connected initiatives.

3. Switching Off and Being Creative – switching off and being creative or learning something new; getting back to nature and relaxation can help your mental health and wellbeing. Click here for a list of the Switching Off and Being Creative initiatives.

4. Eating Well - by nourishing your body and mind you can help your mental health and wellbeing. Click here for a list of the Eating Well initiatives.

5. Managing Your Mood – learning how to manage our moods and reaching out for help if we need it can help us mind our mental health and to keep ourselves well.  Click here for a list of the Managing Your Mood initiatives.
