DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
Parent Talk:
Nurturing Self-Efficacy & Growth Mindset in Your Child
In a joint initiative, Fiona Forman, expert on wellbeing, has been invited to talk to the parents of Hollypark BNS & GNS on Thursday 19th October @ 7.30pm. Hollypark BNS are hosting the event in our school hall.
Fiona Forman (M.Sc. Applied Positive Psychology)
Nurturing your child’s sense of self-efficacy and Growth Mindset can play a powerful role in helping them to feel more resilient, confident and empowered to face challenges and grow towards their potential.
In this talk, Fiona will outline what self-efficacy means, as well as offering several ways to nurture it in your child.
Growth Mindset (Dweck,2012) - the understanding that our talents and abilities are not fixed, but that they can be developed through effort, practice, and persistence – will also be explored.

HURLING- SENIOR INFANTS
The excitement is palpable on Wednesday mornings as our senior infants donn their hurling helmets and head for the Astro/Halla. Hurleys in hand and smiles on faces greeted the 6 Kilmacud Crokes coaches. The boys had a great learning experience and played several games while working on their fundamental movement skills. Much to the delight of Mrs. Regan, our sports co-ordinator, the future of Hollypark hurling looks bright. The boys have a chance to do it all again for the next 6 weeks. Thanks to past pupils, Scott Heath and Ewan Byrne (Oatlands College) for helping to coach our young boys.
CUMANN NA MBUNSCOL- FOOTBALL
It is always an exciting time of the year when our 4th and 5th class pupils get to wear the Hollypark jersey for the first time. Yesterday, in Meadowvale and Deer Park, 40 boys got this opportunity. Both our Junior A and B teams played their hearts out and we are very proud of them. A special thank you to Ms. Costello, Mr. O' Brien, Ms. Reynolds Mrs. Walsh for taking the junior teams this year.
Our Senior B team had a wonderful performance last week with a great second half comeback. Thank you to Mr. Murphy and Ms. Costello for their work with the Senior B's. Mr. Mitchell and Mr. Mc Evoy's Senior A team had a great victory over Ballyroan last Thursday. We look forward to doing it all again this week!
