FANTASTIC NEWS
Hollypark BNS has some fantastic news to share with you. Last November, we approached the Department of Education to enquire about the possibility of opening a Special Class for Autistic Children. Our very own Autism Class. We were granted permission in February. During the summer break, internal building works commenced. The class will host 6 children with a DMV-5 diagnosis of Autism and a professional recommendation of a special class placement. We currently have 6 children enrolled and many more on a waiting list.
It is a very exciting new development in Hollypark BNS, one that we are particularly proud of. For us to be truly inclusive, we wanted this class to be in the centre of the school. The new class is situated along the glass corridor, right at the heart of the building. Building works will hopefully be completed by October mid-term.
I need to thank some very generous people who have helped to get this wonderful project off the ground. Firstly, to interior architect, Louise Mc Intyre, mother of Ethan Hannon in 3rd class. Louise has worked tirelessly on the design, layout, and meetings with Department officials & builders. She has given hours of her time and energy and the project would not have been possible without her professionalism, guidance and perseverance. Thank you Louise. For more information on Louise's portfolio, check out https://www.inception.ie/site/
A huge thank you to Fleetwood Paints and their commercial director Alex Doyle for sponsoring all the paint used in the project. Louise's images and vision have been brought to life by Fleetwood paints. https://www.fleetwood.ie/
Thank you to teachers Mr. Frank Mitchell, Ms. Sophie Dunne, Ms. Annette Lynch and SNA Emer Murphy for their help in making this incredible classroom become a reality. Builders, Paul Flynn Construction, and project manager Andrew O' Malley from KSNPM have worked tirelessly during the summer to deliver a state-of-the-art space for our most vulnerable children.
And finally, to Mr. Jeff Jones our caretaker, and his daughter Grace, we kept them busy with this summer with multiple additions to our design! The 'new' corridor looks incredible.
Parents and Guardians, this is where we need you! For us to deliver the very best resources, and provide support to make a lasting impact on the educational journey of these children, we need some help. The Department of Education have grant-funded the construction of the class but most other fees fall on us, the school. As you can imagine, the financial outlay to resource a room like this is severe. If your company/ work place, like Fleetwood & Inception.ie, are in a position to sponsor/ donate to the special class, we would love to hear from you. If you have a Corporate Responsibility Officer who wants to raise the company's social responsibility commitments, please get in touch with us. info@hollyparkbns.ie.
As you will see from the concept images below, created by the magnificent Louise Mc Intyre, this space will be a joy for pupils to enter each morning. If you or your business can help in any way to bring this concept to life, please let us know. Thank you in advance. Charity Reg No. 20118341

WELL DONE BOYS!
It is the second week back and it feels like we never left! Well done to all classes for getting down to work so quickly after the summer break. Teachers are reporting high levels of concentration, work ethic, and teamwork. Manners and respect underpin everything we do in Hollypark and it is great to see our boys demonstrate these traits on a daily basis. We are very proud of our students. Well done to our marvellous Junior Infant students who have settled so well into their new surroundings. Junior Infants will soon meet with their new 5th class buddies. The buddy system in Hollypark is a lovely tradition where boys from 5th and 6th buddy up with our Junior and Senior Infant students and meet regularly for games, activities, story time and much more. Our senior boys are excellent role models for our younger pupils.
JUNIOR INFANTS INFORMATION EVENING
We look forward to welcoming our Junior Infant parents & guardians into the school on Thursday, 19th September @7pm. Ms. Hynes, Ms. Murphy and Ms. Ryan will hold an information evening for parents in rooms 1,2 and 3.

Sports Blitz 2024
The Parents' Association are delighted to announce the date for our upcoming annual fundraising Sport Blitz which will take place on Friday 4th October. Sports activities on the day will include Soccer, GAA, Rugby, Cricket, Tennis, Volleyball, Stretch-n-Grow, Table Tennis, Pilates, Yoga, Dance Classes, Outdoor Games. With such a wide range of activities, it promises to be a day of active fun for all of the boys. If any parents would like to get involved on the day, please contact us at hollyparkboyspa@gmail.com
The Sports Blitz is the Parents’ Associations main annual fundraiser for our school, and we deeply appreciate your generous support from last year. Thanks to your contributions, the PA were able to make valuable additions to our school over the year. The funds raised also helped cover the costs associated with PA organised events throughout the year, including parent evenings, Santa visits, communion celebrations and graduation events, including the 6th class yearbook.
This year, we are raising funds towards our new Autism Class. Your support will help us provide specialised learning tools, sensory equipment and a warm & welcoming environment which will make a huge difference in the lives of our new students.
Sponsorship cards will be sent home in the coming weeks, and we are encouraging the boys to take part by completing chores in exchange for sponsorship. Your support, in any form, is greatly appreciated. We are looking forward to making this year's Sports Blitz another memorable and successful day!

PARK AND STRIDE
The Gardaí have once again asked us to appeal to all parents, not to block driveways and exit routes and to park safely in surrounding estates. We again remind you that free parking is available in Foxrock Parish car park. We encourage our older boys to walk, cycle and scoot to school. Everyone's cooperation in this will ensure the safety of our children and the happiness of our local residents.
