1ST CLASS SHOW: HATS OFF! THE MUSICAL
Rehearsals are well under way in 1st class for a very special performance. The boys in Mrs. Webbley's, Ms. Clinton's & Ms.Dennan's classes are delighted to be putting on ‘Hats Off!’ the musical this term. This will be a wonderful opportunity for the boys to perform for their parents and the school, something which we know they have been eager to do. This year group were not able to experience the usual Junior & Senior Infant Christmas shows due to Covid restrictions.
Our performance for parents will take place on the morning of Wednesday, March 29th (time to be confirmed). Parents will be treated to a fabulous repertoire of farmyard tunes!
AISTEAR
It is great to see the creativity of our boys! During Aistear, Mr. Murphy's Senior Infant boys, depicted Gary Ringrose's recent injury through a Lego creation. It is brilliant!
We extend our best wishes to Gary and wish him a speedy recovery. Best of luck to Ireland this weekend as they play for the Grand Slam.
TENNIS TEAMS
Congratulations to James, Conor, David, Charlie, Ross and Matthew who had a great win against St. Oliver Plunkett's, Malahide. It was a nail-biting game and came down to the last match with Hollypark winning 2:1. Well done boys. It has been a great start to the tennis campaign in the Leinster Schools league, with wins for both Hollypark teams in their matches so far. Best of luck to the boys in their upcoming fixtures.
SOCCER TEAM
Despite the miserable weather last Monday, our soccer team were 11-1 winners! The team have now won both of their games by a combined score 18-1. What a great start to the season.
Thank you to Mr. Mc Evoy and Mr. Murphy for giving their time and coaching skills to the team this year.
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Congratulations to our former student, Shane Cunningham who was recently crowed Club Footballer of the Year. Shane is captain of All Ireland Champions, Kilmacud Crokes. Shane and our other past pupils will bring the Andy Merrigan Cup to Hollypark in the very near future. We are very proud of Shane and we look forward to giving him a hero's welcome.
STARS OF THE FUTURE
Pictured below is Cody, with timekeeper Ethan and record keeper Isaac. The boys have combined their newfound love of frogs and engineering! This week and next, the boys in Ms. Dennan's class will be designing and making a boat using everyday materials. The boat must stay afloat in water for one minute and keep our frog nice and dry! Cody loved the idea so much that he went ahead and designed a superb boat at home. It is great to see Engineers Week is having a lasting effect on our boys!
HOLLYBOP
Thank you to Sarah and her Parents' Association team for organising an excellent Hollybop last weekend. It was a fantastic night full of fun, laughter, music and dodgy dance moves! Thank you also to the many people that gave generous raffle prizes. Over €4.000 worth of prizes was donated. We are deeply appreciative of your generosity. A special word of thanks to Tom Moorecroft who acted as a fantastic MC for the night.
