SPRING CLEAN
Last Saturday saw our inaugural Spring Clean event take place in Hollypark BNS. A huge thank you to parents, grandparents, boys, girls, brothers, sisters, staff, local residents, pupils and past pupils for coming out in your droves to help put a shine on our school as we enter the summer months! Hollypark BNS is looking splendid in the sunshine. Thank you to Sarah and her PA team for organising the event along with a uniform sale. Community spirit is well and truly alive in Hollypark!
Pictured above are some of the many volunteers that helped out on Saturday. A special shout out to Ben Goodwin, 5th class, who supplied us with many tools and his epic gardening skills.
RTÉ NEWS2DAY
Congratulations to Mr. Ryan's 3rd class who were featured on RTÉ News2Day on April 4th. Mr. Ryan's boys are busy learning while getting fit. We place a huge emphasis on fitness in Hollypark BNS. Fitness is included in our homework each night and just last year we also featured on News2Day for our participation in a Fundamental Movement Skills program. Well done to Mr. Ryan and all involved. SPORT (LOTS OF SPORT!)
Hard luck to our Senior A footballers who lost in the semi-final to an excellent St. Pius X team. Our boys battled hard but some days you are just beaten by a better team (as my beloved Mayo found out last Sunday!) Thank you to Mr. Mitchell and Mrs. Regan for inspiring the next generation. We extend our best wishes to St. Pius X who play in the final in Parnell Park today.
Our boys have picked themselves back up and now they are trialing out for hurling and soccer teams. These leagues have started already! Mrs. Regan, Mr. Mitchell and Mr. Mc Evoy are once again giving of their free time to help these teams along with Ms. K. Costello, Ms. E. Costello, Ms. L. Smith and Ms. Fallon. We thank these volunteers for their time and expertise.
Golf for 4th, 5th and 6th will begin after Easter and we hope to submit a team into the Castle Cup, played in The Castle Golf Club. We won the Castle Cup in 2019 so we will look to bring home the silverwear once again!
Our tennis league is continuing and our A, B and C teams will play matches this week. Best of luck to all involved.
SERVICE OF LIGHT
Our 6th class boys step up their preparation for Confirmation by attending their Service of Light tomorrow evening at 7pm. The boys had a rehearsal in the church on Tuesday and Fr. Kieran was very impressed with their excellent manners and maturity. We look forward to Thursday evening. We thank the class teachers, Mrs. Regan, Ms. Crowe, Ms. Murphy, Ms. Mc Carrick, Ms. Kearns and SNA, Ms. Doyle for all their help in preparing the boys. Music on the night will be provided by our 5th class boys under the instruction of Ms. Maloney with Ann Mc Grath playing the organ. Thank you to one and all, it promises to be a special evening.

Travelling with Autism
For any of our families with an autistic family member, Dublin airport offer additional support and assistance. They will provide you with a wristband or lanyard which can be shown to staff at any areas where you might encounter queues or crowds, such as security or boarding. The lanyards have a sunflower pattern on them for ease of recognition and they say “Important Flyer”.
Additionally on the website there are visual guides provided for both terminals which include photos. This might allow you to prepare your child in advance for the airport environment to provide familiarity.
If you or your child have a diagnosis or a query diagnosis of autism, you are eligible to apply. You will need a supporting letter from your GP along with your application.
You can apply via the following page:
