CHRISTMAS IS STARTING EARLY!

Toy Show Goodie Boxes

The Toy Show Goodie Boxes are packed and ready. The boxes will be delivered to all boys on Thursday 26^th to enjoy on Friday night during the Toy Show. Thank you to our wonderful Parents’ Association for their hard work preparing the boxes.

Thanks to everyone for their overwhelming support for the Toy Show Goodie Box fundraiser. They sold out in record time and the PA are still working their way through the waiting list.  Boxes will be distributed to the boys at the end of the school day on Thursday.

The full list of sponsors is included in the activity booklet in each box and they will be thanked in next week’s letter.  However, the PA would particularly like to express gratitude to the following donor companies in which parents of our school are directly involved - Brennan & Company, Beirne &Wise, Core Real Estate, Mars Ireland and Suntory Beverage & Food Ireland. Your support is much appreciated.

 

HOUR OF CODE

This year Microsoft employees are delivering a virtual Hour of Code session to students in 4^th class during Computer Science Education Week. Hour of Code ‘Unplugged’ means that location and access to computers will not act as a barrier for our school. Every 4^th class boy will have an opportunity to participate, where they’ll be encouraged and challenged to computationally think (i.e. the way we think when we code) whilst having lots of fun and learning new skills! 

Thank you to parent, Louise Kelleher for organising this annual event. Also, thank you to Microsoft Ireland who continue to work closely with Hollypark BNS. 

 

BEAUTIFUL ART ON DISPLAY!

We have beautiful artwork on display throughout the school. Boys are really showing off their many talents. The image above is from Ms. Fallon’s 4^th class.

SANTA VISIT

I have some exceptionally good news for the boys of Hollypark. I have just received a phone call from Santa Claus. He is feeling very fit and healthy and he will pay a visit to our wonderful boys on December 17^th. 

 

Parents’ association notice of agm

The AGM of the Parents' Association will be held on Tuesday 1 December at 8pm.  If you wish to attend this virtual AGM, please register your interest at hollyparkboyspa@gmail.com and a link to the meeting will be sent in due course.

If you are interested in joining the Parents' Association, please send a message to the same email address and include the class that your son is currently in.

 

hand sanitiser

Boys do not need to bring their own hand sanitiser to school. The school provide hand sanitiser to each boy several times a day.

STARS OF THE FUTURE

Well done to Thomas Gilmore who has been chosen as the face of Focus Ireland Christmas Jumper Day fundraiser. Thomas and his sisters will be playing a vital part in helping to raise funds this year for Focus Ireland. Well done Thomas, we love the advert! ONLINE WELLBEING

6^th classes will receive Online Safety and Digital Wellbeing training on December 1Oth. Boys will be trained throughout the day by Cyber Safety Ireland facilitators.

Parents of 6^th class boys will also receive a webinar on the same topic at 7.30pm on December 10^th. A Zoom link will be sent closer to the date.

 

HSE FLU VACCINE

A reminder that children 2-12 years old can avail of a free Flu vaccine. Contact your GP for further details.
