SEACHTAIN NA GAEILGE
14ú -16ú Márta 2022
Tá Seachtain na Gaeilge linn! Tá immeachtaí ar súil timpeall na scoile le haghaidh seachtain na gaeilge. Tá fáilteoirí ag na doirse gach maidin ó rang a sé. Tá beannachtaí ar nós ‘Dia Duit’ agus ‘Conas atá tú’ le cloisteáil. Inniu, tá comórtos ealaine ar siúl sna ranganna sóiseareachta agus sna ranganna sinseareachta, tá tráth na gceist ar siúl.
Tá amhráin le cloisteáil sna pasáistí; Baidín Fheilimí, Aonach Amarach agus Trasna na dTonnta, gan ach roinnt bheag a lua! Táimid ag tsnúth go mór leis na taispeántais a mbeidh ar siúl amarach idir na ranganna amuigh ar an astroturf.
Seachtain Na Gaeilge is upon us!
There are activities ongoing all over the school this week for Seachtain na Gaeilge. There are 6th class boys at the doors each morning, welcoming the younger boys as Gaeilge. Yesterday, there was an art competition running in each of the junior classes and there was a table quiz happening in each of the senior classes. Our corridors are filled with the sounds of traditional Irish songs such as Baidín Fheilimí, Aonach Amarach agus Trasna na dTonnta, to name but a few. We are very excited for the performances between classes that will be happening today on the astroturf pitch.
Our thanks to Mrs. Webbley agus Mrs. Regan for leading this year's festivities.
DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
School will be closed this week on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th of March. We wish a happy St. Patrick's Day to our school community.
BUDDING ENGINEERS
Lots of classes enjoyed Engineers Week last week. Pictured below are Ms. Costello's 1st class exploring anchoring concepts through the Cantilever Challenge, Mrs. Webbley's boys are taking on the Cup Challenge and Ms. Smith's first class are working co-operatively to explore and solve many engineering challenges. Thanks to your generous voluntary donations over the past number of years, we have been able to heavily resource our STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) equipment in the school. Thank you to Ms. Hynes for leading us in the right direction.

STARS OF THE FUTURE
Congratulations to Evan O‘Farrell, Ms. Cotterell's 2nd class who is in the national final of the Credit Union Art Competition. He is guaranteed to win a prize which will be announced by Marty Whelan on Thursday evening. We wish you the very best of luck Evan.
TENNIS
Congratulations to our 3 tennis teams who continue to do us proud against strong opposition. The B team came away with a great point against Glebe School, Wicklow last Thursday with some long rallies and great tennis on display. Good luck to our teams that play this week. Pictured below are our tennis representatives showing off our new t-shirts.
Cumann Na Mbunscol – Football
Congratulations to our Senior A and B football teams who had great victories this week. Our A team beat St. Michael’s, Ballsbridge and are on course for a semi- final spot. The finals of the A league will take place in Croke Park so our boys have their fingers and toes crossed for a day out in GAA headquarters! Our B team had a resounding victory against their Foxrock neighbours St. Brigid’s. Well done to both teams and management on a great week.
This week is a special week for these boys.
