INFANT CHRISTMAS SHOWS
Junior Infants- December 15th at 9.30am
Senior Infants- December 15th at 11.30am
We are nearly there! After all the preparation, line learning, song singing, costume making and multiple rehearsals, we are looking forward to welcoming the parents and guardians of Junior and Senior Infant classes into the school on Thursday. Spaces are limited to two adults per family. Siblings in the boy's school will have seen the performance already. Sister's from the girls school are not permitted to attend. Ciarán Maher, parent and cameraman has recorded both shows and a link will be available to download from our website in the coming days. We kindly ask that parents do not use their mobile phones to record while the show is in progress. We thank you for your co-operation on these matters.
All shows will take place in the school PE hall. Please note that spaces are limited and reserved for 2 adults only per child.
6TH CLASS CAROL SERVICE (DATE CHANGE)
December, Monday 19th at 7pm.
The Carol service will take place in the school PE hall. Please note that spaces are limited and reserved for 2 adults only per child.
CHRISTMAS COLLECTION IN AID OF THE CAPUCHIN DAY CENTRE FOR THE HOMELESS
Our Pupil Voice Committee are making a difference for others already! Combatting child poverty is their focus at this time of year and they are making a Christmas collection in aid of homeless children and families. The Pupil Voice Committee are collecting vouchers for The Capuchin Day Centre for the homeless. The centre provides hundreds of hot meals every day as well as food parcels for those in need.
You can help by buying a voucher for Super Valu, Tesco, Dunnes, Aldi or Lidl. Boys can bring these vouchers to school where their teachers and the students will gather them.
We will drop these vouchers to the Capuchin Day Centre before Christmas so that they can be used to buy supplies for children and families in need. Many thanks in advance.
CHILDHOOD RSV &
STREP A
We kindly ask that children who are displaying symptoms of illness, cough, fever, sore throat etc. stay at home from school until they are fully recovered. You will see from media reports that childhood RSV and Strep A are highly contagious infections and extremely dangerous. We want to ensure these infections stay out of our school.
This week is a very special week for these boys: Alfie Craven, Emmanuelle Gealon, Edward Ramanundh, Rory Wise, Logan Mc Hale, Conor Dong, Douglas Lawlor, Ollie Cunningham, William Morris, Luke Mulvany, Yacine Rahmani, Brody Keegan, Finn Morrissey, Matthew O' Brien, Daire Tuite, Juan Jijo, Daniel Dunphy, Alex Gao agus Kit Webbley.
Have a wonderful celebration boys!
We have some remaining copies of Braver Than You Believe by Fiona Forman available to purchase for 18e through the office.
SANTA VISIT
Santa and his elves will once again visit Hollypark this year. We look forward to welcoming him on Monday, December 19th. It is always one of our favourite days of the year.
FOCUS IRELAND JUMPER DAY
Congratulations to Thomas Gilmore and Sonny Halligan, 2nd class, who once again are the faces of the Focus Ireland Christmas Jumper Day. Boys, you are doing Hollypark proud and we thank Focus Ireland for the great work they do.
THANK YOU AND WELL DONE
Well done to our staff, parents and children who carefully braved the freezing temperatures this week and arrived at school safe and sound. For similar events in the future, please don't put yourself under pressure- arriving safely is the most important thing. During cold spells, it is also no problem to wear school tracksuits and extra layers of clothing. When temperatures return to normal, we will revert to our uniform policy.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS
I would like to take this opportunity to wish our whole school community a happy and peaceful Christmas. Hopefully, Santa will be kind to us all!
