Monthly Focus

Limiting Screen Time continues to be our focus this month.

Particularly as we are in spring and the longer daylight is beginning to be evident.

We as adults can lead by example and limit our use of devices too!

Valentine’s Cake Sale

The Valentine’s Cake Sale will take place on Friday February 14th.

Due to boys in the school presenting with severe nut allergies, we ask that you please keep the cakes, buns and treats nut free.

Parents are very welcome to help out on the day at any time between 8am and 1p.m. If you wish for your container to be returned, please clearly mark your son’s and his teacher’s name on it. We encourage the boys to take home their cakes in re-usable containers.

There will be a raffle. Tickets are on sale in the classrooms all week. One strip for €2. 3 strips for €5. 1st prize: A bike, 2nd prize A Lifestyle Voucher for €25 and 3rd prize A Smyths Voucher for €20.

Our Cake Sale is in aid of our twin school, St. Patrick’s Kawese, Kenya. With your support The Kenyan School Foundation has built an 11 classroom Primary School, runs a nutrition programme called The Breakfast Club and a gender equality initiative.

Last summer 11 teachers and volunteers from Hollypark visited Kenya to teach in Kawese. They identified a new project called Songa, a school for children with disabilities in the Mukuru slum of Nairobi.

Your support goes directly to Kenya and really makes a difference to the lives of so many children and their families.
