Monthly Focus

This month’s focus is on ‘a kind act a day for Advent’. On the back of the letter is a ‘be kind Advent calendar’ which the boys can use for some inspiration. I heard many great ideas this week so looking forward to hearing some more at next weeks assembly!

Christmas Collection in Aid of Capuchin Day Centre

Our Advent collection this year is in aid of the Capuchin Day Centre for the homeless in Central Dublin.

On Thursday 12th of December, Mrs Mc Carrick will meet Brother Nolan with all the Hollypark BNS donations. We have received an enormous amount of gifts and we would like to thank you for your generosity.

The 5th class boys, Mark Martin, Sebastian Gonzales Manning, Liam Bernin, Sebastian Le Jeune, Luke Maher, Jake Wright, Daniel Murray, Ethan D’Alton, Thomas Mc Carthy, and Luke Dunphy have been busy working with Mrs. Mc Carrick and they have taken control of the collections. We really appreciate all your hard work boys.

Rockmount Choir

Last Thursday, boys from 6th class together with Ms. Lawlor joined forces with the Rockmount Choir group to sing carols. It was a fabulous night and our boys did us proud.

Secondary Schools

Parents of 4th class boys – Don’t forget to put your son’s name down for Secondary Schools.

Spreading Bugs

Many boys are coming to school with various illnesses. If boys are sick, please don’t send them into school.

Mental Health and Wellbeing

Things that can help keep children and young people mentally well include:

  • being in good physical health, eating a balanced diet and getting regular exercise.
  • having time and the freedom to play, indoors and outdoors.
  • being part of a family that gets along well most of the time
  • going to a school that looks after the wellbeing of all its pupils.
  • taking part in local activities for young people.
  • little or no use of screen time.

Stars of the Future

On Thursday 5th of December the Junior Infant boys treated us to a wonderful Christmas nativity – Donkey for Sale. The boys were excellent. It’s hard to believe that they have only been in the school for 3 months! A huge thank you to their fabulous teachers, Ms. Brennan, Ms. Doyle, and Ms. Ryan and the SNAs Ms. Fennell, Ms. Tecklenborg and Ms. Mc Loughlin. We really appreciate all your efforts and thanks for spreading Christmas cheer!

Yesterday was the turn of Senior Infants. They treated us to a rousing performance of their nativity – Fishing for Stars. A special thanks to their wonderful teachers, Ms. Kilty, Ms. Breathneach and Ms. O’Byrne along with Ms. Durning, Ms. Clarke, Ms. Reynolds and Ms. Larkin.

Last night, the 6th class boys took to the stage for their annual carol service. Looking pristine in their white shirts they wowed the audience with renditions of well-known carols and some Christmas favourites. There wasn’t a dry eye in the hall! Well done boys, you continue to do us proud everyday. A special thanks to Ms. Lawlor, Ms. O’Brien and Ms. Regan for their preparations along with Ms. Walsh and Ms. O’Callaghan. We had Ms. Maloney on piano who did a wonderful job and a first for Hollypark, we had Gavin Fong (6th class) on piano accompanying the boys for O Holy Night and Caolan Tokar (6th class) on guitar for Away in a Manger. Such amazing talent on show from all of 6th .
