FURTHER QUIZ SUCCESS FOR HOLLYPARK- REPORT
1st and 3rd place!
After a hugely competitive and exceptionally high standard throughout, a massive congratulations go to Hollypark BNS, who were crowned the 2025 DLR Schools' Quiz Champions. Monkstown ETNS had a fantastic quiz and finished in 2nd place, five points ahead of the second Hollypark BNS, second team, who finished in 3rd place.
The lads from Hollypark BNS left it late as Monkstown ETNS had a two-point cushion going into the last round.
The final question decided all three prize places: 'There are eleven countries in Europe whose names end in a D or a Y, name them?(1 point for each)'
Hollypark pulled off a five-point swing in the final round to clinch their first DLR Schools' Quiz title. It was a good final round for the other Hollypark BNS team as they avoided a four-way tie-breaker to snatch 3rd place at the very end.
A huge congratulations to both our teams. Both teams left with a host of prizes, including over 100 books for our class libraries. Thank you to quiz teacher Ms. Brennan and SNA Ms. Clarke for accompanying the boys.

CONGRATULATIONS GRANADA U 11 & 12'S
The under-11 Granada FC boys brought home the European Cup this weekend from Vincennes ( a Paris town twinned with Blackrock), and both the under-12 and under-11 boys won the 'Fair Play' trophy for displaying a great attitude throughout the tournament.
4th class pupil Cal McFetridge's defensive efforts kept clean sheets for the team, while JJ Hart's box-to-box display set up goals. Adam Donnely's penalty heroics got the boys through to the final, and Riley Maher's cup-winning penalty in the final won them the trophy!
What an amazing victory!
The mayor of Vincennes welcomed the boys to the town hall for a reception, and our Hollypark lads did us proud, showing great manners and respect.
It was a wonderful weekend that the boys will remember forever. Please see the photos attached.

STANDARDISED TESTS
Standardised Tests were carried out during May. Attached is a letter from the DES called 'Understanding Standard Tests'.
